Last Money, Susan Fox and I caught up with our friends Jana and Neal Hallford, the latter of which has written his historical documentary coffee table art book on the history of the classic computer game Heroes of Might and Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective, a game series that Neal Hallford worked on as a game designer during his time at New World Computing. The book is gorgeous, and Neal was right there in the thick of it when the series was under active development.

He brought us a signed copy of the new book, from Dark Horse, and it turned into a book swap, because I had just released Juniper Fairchild and the Alterwhere, via our brand new publishing company Helium Beach.

The restaurant we were in is only a few blocks away from where Neal lived on Sherman Way in Van Nuys while he was working at New World Computing. I knew some things about what was going on at The Dreamer’s Guild, another game development company in the San Fernando valley that was practically an unofficial sister company to New World Computing for many years, so I was able to help him out in a small way as he worked on this amazing tome. The artwork in it, by the way, is brilliant as well, and it will inspire me as I write my next books.
